EC Ride 07 : Part I

26.10.07 08:00 : We gathered like any Sunday Ride at the BHP tol Gombak. The difference is it's Friday. This is the original route plan for the ride :

Don't worry. I'm not that geeky. Maybe I'm just Techcy. Hehehe...

I remember the participants are :
Sifoo Is, Mat, Fino, Lan, Syam, Rudy, Abg Suindra, and Abg Jamil. Che Din, Kamal, and Radzi joins us later in Kuantan. Fuad escort us and standby for help with a Nissan Frontier.

Restoran Nasi Kandar. The usual meeting place. The red ST is another bikers who on his way to Terengganu too. He left before us.

Teh tarik any roti canai. The best breakfast you could have (not really..). Most of our attire are full leather. When Sifoo Is around, always get ready for some extreme action.

Fuel up here. I think BHPetrol fuel is one of the best. It has more mileage compare to others, even thou Petronas and Shell claim to have their own technology. But overall, most of them are the same, we're not that picky.

The signal up for ready to roll. Suindra became our Imam for Doa.
It's a long journey. May Allah bless us all.

Rudy rides ER6n-f that day. He did ordered a Hayabusa from Welly, but it got stuck on the AP processing and loan, not enought time claim Welly. So Welly was kind enough to loan him a bike, with Sifoo Is as guarantor, to join us for this ride. Go Welly! But buy from Mok! Hahaha.... (I'm just kidding... I notice most bikers has their own shop preferences).

I manage to mount my camcorder to the pillion left side footpeg. The mount is custom made, I use a head from a damage Sony tripod and a 1/2" water pipe and some cable tie. I works great! Cost me nothing. And the picture quality are excellent. Check out the video here.

We then fuel up at Temerloh. It take us about an hour from Tol Gombak.

Refuel. I once only top up RM10.00 here going to Kuantan, the day a liter of petrol cost RM1.92. The fuel warning flashes about 60km before Kuantan. I don't think I'll do that again. Never!

Fuad arrived just a few minutes later. Che Din? Speedtrap banyak ka?

A brief on the ride. Sifoo Is has a lot of experience in riding.

I rode a ZX6R back then. Seems to have some purchasing factor to Bedah and Pojie who then get the ZX6R too. I then left them by upgrading to ZX10R. Muahahaha....

This is my first time equip the Zumo 550 GPS. Caught some attention from this guys.
Fuad is techy as well. Knows a lot on digital stuff and big boys toys.

Angle shot like this is Fino's liking.

I'm impress with the GPS. All data and travel can be log. Wonderful.
Huhu... my RS Taichi gloves looks so goods.

After fueling up, we head straight to Kuantan. We took the Jabor exit. Radzi and Kamal we're already there to greet us. They even call the KDP (Kemaman Dungun Paka, right?) Bikers club to escort us along Kemaman. One of the guys riding a R1200GS, the bike I love so much before F800GS came out.

A quick rest on Tol Jabor while waiting for the others.

Still waiting for everyone to check in.

Time to leave. The green ZX6R are equip with sirens and flashing lights.
It's an easy ride through town when they backs us.

KDP Bikers bikes.

We stop at Che Din house in Kemaman. KDP bikers escort us all the way to the gate. They hang out and chit chat for a while before they leave us to our plan. Thank you guys! You guys help a lot maneuvering us through town.

Manage to snap some photo group shots at Che Din house with the KDP Bikers.

The was lots of red at that time.
Che Din's, mine and Radzi's.

Fino's K7 doesn't evolve much until now.
Put them Akrapovic full system le..... Hehehehe..

Before lunch, I brought some DVDs to enjoy. We did manage to playback the video I shoot along the ride. We watched SBK season 2001 and Faster.

Lovely lunch Che Din prepare for us. Lan was first on the seat. He looks like he is determine to get the chicken. The food was so damn good. I could still remember the taste. The cuttlefish is great. All of them are. Thanks Che Din!

Some of the dishes.

I think this ayam kampong is a retired champ. The meat was so firm. I remember 4 guys teeth trying to get a tear of it. I scared if I tried, I left mine on it.

So there eleven of us. Clock wise from left top : Rudi, Radzi, Abg Suindra, Sifoo Is, Lan, Kamal, Abg Jamil, Fino, Syam, Man Biaggi and Che Din. I'm the one behind the lens I think. Am I?

After gearing up. We make a move to Kuala Terengganu. We'll be staying at Radzi house there. It has a swimming pool. Fuiyoooh!

Around after Dungun area, we got caught in the rain. Sifoo Is leads and kept on riding till he had a good spot for a shelter. I was at the third last of the group back then. I have to stop to cover my camcorder. It's weather resistant, but it's not water proof. Just before, Fino had an argument with a Proton Waja along the way. He did, accidentally, dent the rear right side of the Waja. But everything was fine and it was settled accordingly. I caught that on tape. Hehehe...

Try getting wet on a leather suite. It gets better when the water starts to drips to your boots.
A hot drink is great on rainy like this.

When the rains starts to slow, we ride again. But the rain became worse at Merchang. He had to look out for a shelter again. Riding in a rain is fun for me, but visibility is almost 0, and it's getting dark. It left us no choice. Kinda dangerous.

Yup. This is quite an experience.

The rains getting heavier. Radzi shoot a little forward. He's missing from the pack.

We can still have fun in the rain.

We are caught here for a while. Sifoo Is giving some riding tips as we all are too fresh on this biking world.

I'll continue when the rains stops. Hehehe....
