BMC Air Filter Coming To Me In 10 Days!!!

I've ordered the BMC Air Filter for the 2008 ZX10R. Should arrived here in 5-6 days, but make it 10 days to be safe. Muahahaha... another 2hp up for my ten! There are two types, race and street. The race version are claimed to give 25% more than the street version, and the street version are claimed and have been proven to be better than OEMs. We will see.. I'll blog and review them for you. A dilemma between this two type thou.

From BMC website :
"Following the F.1 successes and the very good performance obtained by the Team Yamaha Belgarda and Team Suzuki Alstare Corona in the World SuperSport Championship and the AMA Yoshimura Suzuki Team, BMC air filters have proved to be the leading product in the category for its quality in material and construction. BMC air filters have been used in Race in the worst conditions to test performance and reliability. Current production uses the same materials already tested. BMC air filters range includes all the more popular sport street bikes, and it always increases including all the new models.
BMC air filters are designed and produced to ensure a higher air flow than original paper filters. BMC air filters, made in cotton, minimize the loss of air flow pressure passing through the air filter; this way ensures the best conditions for full exploitation of maximum power. Therefore, the benefits of replacing the original paper filter with a BMC cotton air filter in your motorcycles are evident.
Qualified engineers using advanced software and expert technicians using the latest technologies produce the BMC air filters. A F.1 air filter, for example, must be very light, must be made of the best materials and must improve performance. For this reason, also for motorcycles filters we use only alloy mesh with epoxy coating to ensure protection from petrol fumes and from oxidization due to the humidity of the air. The filtering material is composed of a special cotton gauze soaked with low-viscosity oil to give you the best air permeability."

Laos and Beyond : Part II - Imagine

Now the fun part begins. Compare this with the NEC ride. Do you know where we're heading?

I tiled up google map together so there's more details on it. My zumo can calculate the map because it's not bind together. So will have to do it manually. How many miles do you think we will travel? So imagine...

Sticky : Ride to LAOS 2009!

I'm proposing a ride to Laos through Thailand. Any takers? We don't need to have a Dual Purpose bike to accomplish this ride, Damien ZX14 has proved that sportsbike can go there. Yes, its going to be long and hard but I think we should be able to make it.

The plan is to travel to Laos and on the way back stop in Phuket Bike Week during Songkran. It's going to be fun guys. If anyone has any other plan please share.
-BedahNooB-

Confirmed Participants :
1. Mat - kalau sempat aku beli GS la...
Tapi aku nak propose lain sikit, daripada kita patah balik, kita masuk Vietnam lepak Ha Noi pulak, lepas tu masuk China all the way to Guanzhou. Masuk Hong Kong boleh beli gear, balik kita naik kapal, kena 5 hari jugak atas kapal, sampai Port Klang terus.

Laos and Beyond : Part I - Planning A Long Ride

Few times I sat down with experience bikers who has done thousands of miles. Thought I would share it with you. In summary, there are only 3 things that will let you start your journey and kept it going :
1. Money
2. Bike
3. Health

1. Money

No money, no talk. Sounds a little harsh, but we are facing reality here. Let's go to basic first before we crunching the calculator for the long way ride. How much money do you think maintaining a superbike in a month? Or let it be a year so you divide and plan your income monthly? I'll draw down what's it needed for a brand new liter bike, but not much difference for a 600cc or 1400cc bike too :

1. RM 1,000.00 for the tyre, average 3 swaps in a year if you're a regular rider.
2. RM 250.00 for for engine oil and filter, average of 4 times in a year.
3. RM 2,000.00 + RM 350.00 for road tax and insurance.

The basics will had you RM 530.00 for a month. And in every 2 years, you need another RM 1,000.00 for the chain & sprocket. Some more hundreds for the bearing & prepare another RM 2,000 for doing a valve clearance. This is maintenance, you can option to skip it of course, but this will not leave your bike in tip top form. So that will make us save about RM 650.00 per month. Did you notice, I did say to maintain a bike, means you already have one right? So do you buy it cash? If you do, this wouldn't be much a problem since you pocket is that deep. I had to finance my bike, couldn't afford to get it in cash, an depending on your loan, average guy pay RM600.00-RM1,000.00 installment a month for their bike. Teh tarik and fuel, let say it would cost RM50 a week, so altogether, RM 650 + RM 750 + RM 200 = RM 1,600.00 is an ideal amount for you to spend on a your bike monthly.

I wouldn't want to go how much more you need for a track day, gears, and accessories for your bike because it just ain't basic and you'll always have a choice to have them or not. What I'm stressing is the necessities. So, to sum it up, you squeeze out RM 1,600 from your pocket monthly... just for enjoyment. If your eyes widen reading this figure, I'm sorry to say, it's not your time yet... Not to mean that you can't own one, but you have to wait until you find this is OK. InsyaAllah. I'm struggling myself, but if you asked me why? The enjoyment is priceless!

So let's get to the long ride. RM 6,000.00 is the minimum for a 10 days Laos ride. How do I know the figure? Ask them who had been there. That would covers accommodations, foods and fuel for you & the bike. I would love to breakdown the figure, because I too want to know, but that'll take me sometime. I'll be back on this article. A 14 days trip to the Golden-Triangle cost a friend of mine RM15K. Gulp... That would be me swallowing back my saliva.

So, to plan a trip there. Start saving... and do plan for some contingencies too.

2. Bike
No bike no ride. It's easy, right? But if you reverse it, Got bike, got ride. It not necessary to be true. Would you think my Zx10R would survey that long ride. I doubt it, may be, but I need some more money for the repair bills. A supersports was meant for the track. An environment that's clone a track is a good paved tarmac road with twisties. A long straight highway doesn't do justice for the bike too, especially for the tyres. An ideal bike for this ride would be to get a dual-purpose. That's it for me. And easy riding bike like a Sportstourer, Street Naked, & Cruiser will be fine up until you find a gravel & mud that you have to come to. You'll curse and grief.

So, let save ourselves some more money and get a dual-purpose. Just for the sake of this ride.

3. Health
Ho..ho..ho... Start exercising. The long way ride test you only one thing. Endurance. Your body and mind should be clear. Getting excited with the trip is good. But would you be that excited as well to get back? That just a test for your mind. You're body should be kept fit as well. Epol advise us to prepare an international medical card. Hmm... should get advise from Bro Fino about this. To say, you have to stay healty for the ride. I'm very pleased that we played futsal every week now. If we keep this up, I bet all of us is ready for the ride by the end of next year, right? We also have to consider our families and our commitment to them. It might not be a problem much to get a two week leave. But let us prepare for it a well. Our mind should stay focus all the time.

So I guess you'll get the point. I never been to a very long ride before, so all of this is from what I heard and think what is should, not from experience. I may sounds more cons than pros, but this is just a tips to make it be a pleasant trip. A great adventure is one without plan. The hassles, the difficulties, the stressfulness and all the wrong ones if much more enjoyable to remember, but would not be pleasant at that moment, would you like to share them to the one you love and care? I love traveling, I always want to do it without the money, but that'll make me selfish for myself. If it was me, and I'm not obligated to anything, I'll start my bike and head north all the way now.

To be continue...

Helmet Kura-Kura di BAN!!

The Half-shell helmets may soon be taken off shelves in motorcycle accessories shops and ban from being use on the road as early as January next year. - NST Online

I agree that half-shell helmet (helmet kura-kura) is not a proper and safe helmet and it should be ban but the Road Safety Department director-general Datuk Suret Singh made a very stupid comment. He said its a favourite among superbikers for its comfort and light weight.

WTF since when superbikers like to wear 'helmet kura-kura'?

Datuk Suret Singh we just hope you wont make another mistakes by banning our THOUSANDS RINGGIT helmets that your department and that F#%!@ SIRIM didn't approve.

Do you want to ride your Superbike wearing this? This helmets is reserve for the 'Motor Kangkang' not the 'Motor Tunduk' hehe

Motorbike riders risk impotence, say doctors

This report was published in The Sydney Morning Herald on November 23, 2008.
MEN who ride motorcycles are at risk of impotence and urinary problems because the vibration of the engine damages nerves in their penises, a study has found.

A survey of more than 230 motorcyclists who rode their bikes for about three hours every weekend found almost 70 per cent had problems gaining an erection or emptying their bladders.

Vibrations from the engine also caused a decrease in two growth hormones in the bladder and prostate related to bladder relaxation.

But all men should avoid sitting on hard bicycle or motorcycle seats, particularly seats with thin, pointed ends, for long periods to prevent compression of pelvic floor muscles, Impotence Australia chief executive officer Brett McCann said yesterday.

About 76 per cent of riders aged 40 to 49, and 93 per cent of those aged 50 to 59, reported severe erectile dysfunction, compared with 37 per cent and 42 per cent respectively among those who did not ride motorcycles.

Awana Regulators

Well, I had foresee (hehe..) that sunday ride will be off this week. Abg Suindra just left the hospital, Mie and Yan are still bikeless, Pojie, Eddy, Najib, Amir & Epol where on their shooting trip, Fino tyre still unchanged, Sifoo Is gone AWOL, tough luck for the others too.
I'm at my inlaws place in Klang that night. A call on 1a.m. says trouble on my worksite in KL. Since it's late, I promise to take a look early next morning. I arrived there at 8a.m. and it turn out to be a false alarm. I thought I'll be skipping the ride this week, but looking at the clock, I think I could joined the early guys. They group at Mobil Jalan Kuching at 9a.m. I called them regulators because they never skip Awana. And most of these guys are fast rider.

I reached Mobil at 9.25a.m. Just enough time to fuel up my bike and shakes a few hands. Anyone are welcome to join. My case are just an example. If you need a ride on Sunday, just join in. They welcome you always. I shooked another group hands actually. By the time I saw Hj Dwen and greet him, they are all ready to move. There were like 10 of them at first. The count then add up when we reach Awana.

One of the most respected guys up there. Hj. Dwen left the Dwentinno Rossi image when he change his R1 to K6.

Another Otai who never misses Awana. Capt. Nik.

The fast guys. :-)

Chit and chat.

More chit and chat.

About an hour, the next stop will be Bukit Tinggi. Unlucky for all of us, rain start pouring heavily at Janda Baik. Everyone u-tuns at the BHPetrol station and I see they all wouldn't want to miss enjoying Karak while it's still on a sunny day.

Group back at Tol Gombak before everyone leave to their own business.

And it'll be the same agenda in next week.

MOBIL 1 RACING 4T 10W-40 ROAD TEST

Tester: Gong Kawasaki ZX14 '07
Tester: BedahNooB Kawasaki ZX6-R '08

It’s Friday afternoon and I just remembered I haven’t serviced my beloved Zixxer it was almost 6000km since my last oil change and I have a long ride plan this weekend. So I went home and pack, soon after I head out to Mok for my ritualistic oil change. At Mok’s workshop I met Mat and Gong who was there to get his ZX14 oil change.

For those who missed a lot of the 300kmj TTS almost everyone in our group is using Mobil 1 right now and so far I haven’t heard any complaints yet. So when it’s time for me to get my oil change I went to Mok’s and ask for well you guessed it’s the Mobil 1 Racing 10W-40. I ask Gong to try Mobil 1 but he told me he’s a strict Motul man but after some convincing from Mat he reluctantly agreed to try the oil.

Like Mat told you before Mok doesn’t carry Mobil 1 and it takes my Zixxer and Gong ZX14 to persuade Mok to outsource it from Ah Meng. After the bike’s got their oil changed and serviced, I was ready to begin my 1000 km journey and at the same time figure what makes this oil different than other makes.

Accompanying me on this road test is Gong, so after figuring the ‘routes’ we decided to go south because it’s been a while since we travel there and since this is not a scientific test we will only test the oil for engine noise, gear changes, clutch response, engine temperature and performance.

We’re going to do this is on two parts, one is done during noon when the temperature is at the highest while the other part is during the night because for us Malaysian it's the coldest time of day. During this test we are going to abuse the bike, low gearing high revving extremely hardcore shifting kind of abuse. Hehe Yeah right we wouldn’t abuse the bike just for the sake of your enjoyment.

So after some 2 days of rigorous testing on 1000km of asphalt this is our verdict.

Pros: Cheap, Engine Temperature
Cons: Engine Noise, Gear Change, Availability

Conclusions: This oil seems to work very well for a very short while, after doing 650 km the engine starts to become noisy and gear changing is not as smooth as it was earlier. This problem is also shared by A.D’s 08 Z1000 and Pojaman 08 ZX6-R.

We rate it 2.5/5

Kneedown Lesson @ Turn 17, Nilai

I think everyone will make a question, "Where the hell is turn 17?". Well, the place was discovered by Epol, Ehermm... Sifoo Epol, and the name was given when me and Epol where a little bit frustrated for not having the opportunity to play Sepang on one fine day. That's because it was a little bit raining and I remember seeing a well experience rider smacked his R1 on the Sepang straight speeding on about 240km/h. As we not dare to join in the fun, Epol asked me to practice the kneedown at one quite roundabout. Since Sepang has 15 turns, the exit from Sepang we count as a turn, hence, the roundabout is the 17th turn.

I was quite frustrated when I know there wouldn't be any Sunday ride. I get frustrated every week if I were to miss one. So the plan was to join in the regular Awana's rider if there is no one wants to join. But Epol and Bedah are available, and Awana is not quite on their favour. So I think practicing a kneedown would be just great. It turn out to be fantastic. And I was pushed by Bedah everyday since then to write up this Blog today. Don't worry Bedah... I quite understand. :)

The match against Chelsea and WBA finished around 4a.m. And Bedah still keep SMSesing me about tomorrow's ride. Hmm... I'm a little unsure that he'll get up 8.00 o'clock in the morning. But turn out to be a surprise, at 8:38a.m., "Jumpa kt ner? Wat time?" came an SMS from Bedah. I'm quite happy with his spirit. I first told those guys to meet up at 8.45a.m. at Epol's place, but that morning I left the camcorder in my office and the battery a still flat, so I gap the appointment to 9.45a.m. That saves me some time to charge it, and we all meet promptly after. We had our breakfast and at 10.00a.m. we move to the endless turn.

Bedah are still short on the pants. So I brought my Taichi pants together with me. He borrowed it before at his first trackday few months before at it is kinda loose. On this day, it fits him well. So that kinda another proof biking doesn't slim you down, futsal does! SO COME PLAY FUTSAL LA TOMORROW!!!

Before Epol.. Sifoo Epol gives Bedah the green light, we taught him some of the tips that Bedah should know.

The concentration Bedah gives was amazing. Hehehe...

Gearing up. After this, he'll be heading to Pak Su's to get his own pants and a pair of racing boot. By now he thinks it worth getting one. Huhuhu...

Sifoo Epol show a sample move, where and when to slice.
He looks very comfortable on the Zx14 doesn't he?

I think he kinda nervous. So I take the 2nd role.

Some might say I have a whole lot of the riding technique. But I don't think that's true. I only manage to get a kneedown when I lean low enough. And I am quite OK on a left turn, but on the right, I still feel uncomfortable with my position, sometimes I put a lot of thought on my position while cornering, but most of the time, I don't care much, just to enter the corner as fast as possible. So there is little of technique that I know, and I still have a lot more to learn.

It my turn to suite up.

That's like 4 inches from the ground. Right?

And the speed is still ain't right.

It get lower by every circle.

And when you get it right, it's touchdown.

A little scratching add up to the slider.

It's Bedah turn now.

The body language speaks Bedah determination.

On first first few rounds...

After his first few rounds... Hahaha... Awesome man!

..and it looks good from the ass view too. I really meant the bike la.. Gish!

I remember getting my first kneedown. And Bedah share the same satisfaction. Bedah describe it as good as getting 8As on your SPM exams! Hahaha..

Another new scratch.

Epol then show some more example in reverse order.

Then he shows some fireworks display along the way.

We practice on a 2nd gear with speed around 60km/h. It's tiring to control a torquey bike at that pace.

I enjoy seeing them practicing.

We get comfortable by every turns.
Yippy!

Epol said any beginner would get his knee down average on his 10th laps. I would agree on that.
So don't worry, relax yourself and try it. It's really fun.

I can wait to get my glove and gear off. We played for about 2 1/2 hours. Each of us do 7 to 8 laps on each of our turn. I'm really exhausted by this time.

That's more kneescrapping.

Bedah looks most confortable by the end.
He looks awesome. This is his first kneedown session. And he scores!. In the end, he's not just kneedown, he's kneedragging! The feeling get better when you can do it again.. and again.. and again!

This looks like doing 200km/h on Sepang's turn 3. I'm betting he'll be a regular trackday person from now on. Hehehe..

That is justice to the slider.

Unbelievably satisfied.
I think he'll keep on this subject for a little while. Hahaha...

And I'm just loving it!

Kneedown is just another step of getting to know your bike. This is not just getting to know your body position. You learn to control your throttle as well. And the next step, controlling your suspension with your throttle. Sounds kinda weird? Ask Keith. Ride save guys!

My first kneedown & kneedragging experience

November 16, 2008
Nilai, Negeri Sembilan

It was almost 11 when Mat text me that night asking whether I would like to join him & Gong at Turn 17 , I ask him who else is going because for me if Eddy & Pojie is not going then it wouldn't be fun. Suddenly I remembered Gong telling me when we were doing the NEC ride that I could knee down in just 10 laps of his now famous Turn 17. Out of curiosity I replied 'yes' to Mat even though Eddy & Pojie wont be there.

After a brief explanation and demonstration, I was suprised to found out that Gong's theory and method really worked and I could knee down in less than 10 laps.

Hehe this is just a teaser, wait for the full report, pictures and videos from Mat.
Coming Soon This November.

General Service at Mok Motor

My odo clock 10,000km today. To make things easier. I like to flush my oil every 5,000km. So remembering 5, 10, 15 is much more easier then 1, 5, 12, 18 or something. It'll be my second service and I insist on wanting to pour Mobil 1 again. I like it a lot, and save me some hundreds. :)

The tips is if you use semi-synthetic oil, do an oil change every 3,000km, but it can still last up to 5,000km. If you use fully-synthetic, do on every 5,000km, but you're still safe up to 8,000km. And do do an oil change when you feel you needed too. :)

Mok didn't carry Mobil 1. I think they should. It's cheaper than Motul. Just a few ringgit difference with Silkolene. I've write up how Mobil 1 performs again Motul 300V in a general way, but I'll get that study copy and post the challenge here one day. So I borrowed Mail kapcai and rode to Ah Meng's. Bought 4 bottles since the Zx10R will take 3.7l out of it, thats when the oil filter is change as well. I still cost RM48 and during the fuel hike, the price remains the same. Same old stock? Or does Motul take an advantage of the situation? Motul price when up twice this year!

During the NEC ride, I don't know when & where, I blow the rear tyre tin balancing away (not really sure what they called actually). So I ask them to balance back my tyre as well. I got spare time actually, so we left the bike cooled down and wait for the oil drip stops.

But I must say Motul still makes great oil. Motul Chainlube is an excellent lubricant for the chain but it's very sticky. But all the black oil that traps dust and sand clog up my sidestand and gearshift. I usually clean this myself with a gasoline and spray some WD40 then after.

Hahaha... Really forget the 300V untill the price is reasonable again. You should try this.

Sifoo Mail way are different. He feels. One of the best mechanic in town.

This is how they balance the tyre. An old fashion but proven method.

Previously they use the tin sticker. I request the clip type. It's more durable than the sticker version. The sticker glue doesn't hold that well, they need to have a heady duty version, but that would make it harder to peel off one day.

Sepang Track Day 14.11.2008

Sifoo Is SMSes a day before about the track day. I then announce it on the Google Calendar. The fee is RM200.00, that's double from a normal track day. But it'll will be less crowded and instead of 2 hours, you got 3. I'm about 50-50 to join, work... hmm, but the fact that the the next track day is in another month and my tyre tread could only clock some more miles, I decided to joined. Epol wasn't available since I didn't made a prompt confirmation the night before. He had arrange an appointment later that evening.

They started from 2p.m to 5p.m. After Friday prayer, at 2, I head down to Sepang. The weather is terrific for a track day! It's been hot all morning. Felt a little bit lost of the 1/2 hours wasted on the highway. I even miss the KPE exit which is the fastest route from KL to Sepang now. Sigh..

When I've arrived, just a few bikers and racers where on the pit. Zamani, Panjang & his team were there too, they are the MSS champions, they were the regulars. Sifoo Is too has just arrived. That's him far in the below picture.

There's not more than 10 bikes around. But it then add up to about 15.

Felt like a track day from SIC, private and exclusive.

Perfect weather.

I set my tyre pressure to 32/32 first. I've been experimenting with the pressure all the time. 30/30 is the recommended setup from all racers here, 34/36 is what Pirelli would have ask me to do, but that would be on different ambiance. I like 31/31 more than 30/30, maybe due to my weight. But sometimes I forgot the feel. I'm trying 32/32 now. And I felt just great as well.

The newly installed Brembo 19RCS doing it's part again. Excellent. I can fell that my rear tyres are lifted on the hard breaking. Instead of the bike wobbling and swinging left and right, the rear lifted. I think it's the air pressure as well. How important a bike setup could be. Felt wonderful and scary when I pushed it too much. It's a gamble to stop the bike in such short distances, but there is confidence too. Since the brakes are wonderful, I get me wonder on the suspension setup as well. I got bumps on turn 3 entering the turn 4. Turn 9 as well. Want to ask Johnson and Ah Mend to consult. I want to be beat my own time next round.

Not crowded at all. So it's you and the track only. Keith Code said you have to beat the track, but you have to do it better than any other guy. That's the real secret!

Panjang & Zamani's ride are fully mod. Ohlins suspension, race fairing, they even change the crappy Kawa Ohlins damper to another Ohlins. Yoshi exhaust, Brembo brakes and calipers, and the list go on.

Carbon fiber rims on their fully mod ZX10R.

I love how the Titanium changes color because of the heat.

I manage to get 10 laps on the first round. I felt exhausted but can still go on. That's an improvement from all the futsal. Just before I could only push to 6 laps. I take time with this boys and lots of riding technic being shared to each other.

My best before was 2:45:00 in this circuit, and I average on 2:47:00. Average MSS riders can to 2:20:00 and best is around 2:15:00. MotoGP is close to 2:00:00. On this day, I brake my own time, I was averaging on 2:43:00 and manage to get best on 2:40:00. Hahaha! This is big for me and I'm so happy that I'm improving by time. Sepang have 15 corners, I average I take 1-1.5 sec more time from the average MSS rider. So if I'm quick a sec every corner, I could at least do 2:25:00. Hehehe... This will be my next goal.

2:40:00 is scary for me. I manage to get this time after about 24 laps if my calculation are correct. I have to set each pace target on every corner.
1. My speed must not be less than 75km on turn 1, and I must hit at least 260km/h before entering. But the Akrapovic looses the top end. On RPM 10-13, it climbs slowly. This made it very difficult for me.
2. Before getting to turn 4, I must get 210km.
3. Before getting to turn 9, I must get 190km.
4. I must have 120km/h when I start to exit turn 15. Else it would be hard to get 260km/h and the end of the straight.
So this factors was that I take so much attention. It's only 4 point. But from what Keith is saying, all the points are are important. I know I could have to work harder. So imagine how hard do all the racers work.

I played until the fuel is finish. Yippy! This is really great and the RM200.00 felt worth paying now.

Even my suit is tired after all this. I shot another angle but it seems giving another idea.

Pirelli Diablo Corsa III works well. Imagine having the Supercorsa pulak! Tyre choice gonna be hard on the next change. Hmmm...

The effect are not as extreme as if you were using Battlax 016 or 015.

I made my tyre spin on turn 3. The rear tyre spins faster, and I'm drifting!. It felt great... excited... then scared, when the third sensation kick in, I quickly roll off gas. Hahaha.. It's a very rewarding situation, but I don't think I can duplicate it back again, in time maybe. I'm scared I'll be crashing my bike, this happen in just seconds, imagine how quick you have to react and always have to be ready. Have to wait to play offroad with Tok Mat to get some more Kung Fu steps.

At 5:20p.m, everyone has left. It was raining after that and I go and hang out with Epol at his office.

I still don't do justice on my right slider. My problem is still not getting use the hang on on right turns. I must admit I was going for the speed. I don't feel comfortable yet with my right position. The left is all clear. :)

I gonna have fun reading this back when I could hit 2:30:00.

Dainese 2009 Collection

Dainese just release it's 2009 collection.
More info here. Their official website is here.

Dainese Mission Prof. Suit, I guess this is top range one piece model. Looks awesome.

Baby & The Beast

Teratai really loves to see me work out the bike. I just finished cleaning it. Bugs and tars from the NEC ride leave lot of marks that needed an extra touch. When I pushed my bike in front of her, they seems to talk to each other. Hmm...

The Beast express like a beast suppose too. Wishes no part of entertaining a baby.

But on some part, innocent touch brings kindness to the Beast.

And a baby, is a baby, innocent and exploring, without knowing any consequences. I think she ask my bike to take care of me since I have to take care of her & her mom. :) I promise to always be careful! But I still want to have my fun. Hehehe...

The next day, when I step outside the door, I felt like modding my bike (this is not a good practice). I've always like some parts on the ZX10R which is finish in glossy black. I guess painting the chain guard and rear hugger would be just nice. Lan, who did Pojie's bike and Eddy's helmet came cross to my mind. He is good, and price is much much reasonable. His paintshop are located in Glenmarie, Shah Alam. I got a free time this morning, so I guess I'll be seeing him.

It's just a simple unscrew procedure.

Hmm... some like with the hugger, some don't. Oh well.. even I too misses the mudguard.

Disassemble the side cover as well, to give Lan the sample finish.

The Motul chain spray is really sticky. And my chain guard are covered by them. I manage to clean it with a gasoline, then only uses the car shampoo. I then take this three parts for Lan to do his work. Will see how it goes, it'll be ready by tomorrow evening. Yippy!

I'm sure everyone of you have watch the U-Mobile ad.
I really don't think it's that funny. "Correct! Correct! Correct!" is much more fun. :P

13.11.08 4:37p.m. : I came to see Lan the next day, but it has been raining the whole day and Lan was unable to do his work. So I hang out with him for a teh tarik.
What's funny was the situation is kinda same with the ad, except it was nasi goreng. And Lan end up getting a RM 1.50 nasi goreng.

"Nak setengah punya nasi goreng". Huhu... He got what they wish for.

Here's Mr. Lan. Creative hand and always cool.

Advertorial : Shoei Hornet DS

One of the fastest growing segments of the motorcycling family over the past few years has been the dual sport market. As legal off-road riding areas become harder and harder to find, dual sport riding has been filling the gap for many riders that want the freedom and excitement of riding in the dirt without the headaches of loading their bikes in a truck and driving for hours to find legal off-highway riding areas. With a dual sport bike, any dirt road that a motorcyclist spots in their travels suddenly becomes an opportunity for adventure. Up until now, the dual sport rider was stuck with two options. Most chose to wear an off-road helmet with goggles and fight with a visor that is constantly buffeting in the wind while enduring all the road noise and wind entering the front of the helmet. A few others would endure the stares of other motorists as well as the blinding glare of the sun as they rode with a street helmet aboard their dual sport bikes. Shoei has changed all of this with the introduction of their dual sport specific helmet, the Hornet-DS!

Since the Hornet-DS is a hybrid helmet fusing the capabilities of both on and off-road helmets, Shoei was able to combine the best of both worlds! With a removable shield as well as a removable visor, the Hornet-DS can be configured in three different ways to compliment all forms of motorcycle riding. With both the shield and visor fixed to the helmet, the Hornet is the perfect tool for exploring trails and back roads with your friends. The shield will keep the noise down and protect your face and eyes from bugs and dust. The visor protects your eyes from the glare of the sun, and can also deflect the roost that your buddies throw back at you in the dirt. If the trails get really tight or muddy, the rider can opt to remove the shield and ride with a pair of goggles. If the rider has to do some high-speed highway commuting to get to their favorite trail, the visor can be removed to completely eliminate the buffeting that can be caused by a visor.

If the rider has to do some high-speed highway commuting to get to their favorite trail, the visor can be removed to completely eliminate the buffeting that can be caused by a visor.

The Hornet-DS comes equipped with a 2mm thick 3-dimensionally curved shield that can be positioned in 4 different locations from fully closed to fully open. The shield can also be removed so the helmet can be used with goggles. Shields for this helmet are available in clear and light smoke tints and block 99% of UVA and UVB rays.

Ventilation was a primary concern when designing the Hornet-DS. Long days of riding combined with the relatively low speeds typically encountered while dual sporting create a real challenge for designers who are trying to develop effective ventilation. The Hornet-DS has one of the most advanced ventilation systems ever found on a motorcycle helmet. With four intake and three exhaust vents, the Hornet-DS is up to the task of keeping a rider cool and dry in even the most extreme conditions.

The stylish nose cover on the Hornet-DS is equipped an internal deflector mechanism that forces fresh air upward to help prevent fogging of the shield. The nose cover vent is also equipped with a shutter to enable to user to shut the vent if they choose to. The nose cover vent is easy to remove and disassemble, making cleaning a snap.

The upper intake on the Hornet-DS is a real engineering feat. The intake is positioned in the center of the visor, taking advantage of the ram-air effect and forcing air through a gasketed seal into the top of the helmet. The ram-air vent is mated with traditional forehead vents to ensure effective ventilation.

After entering the helmet, the air travels through channels set between the layers of Shoei’s exclusive Semi-Dual EPS liner. Not only does this two piece expanded polystyrene liner offer better ventilation, but the utilization of dual density EPS foam allows for improved impact absorption performance as well.

All of this fresh air coming in would do you no good if the hot air had nowhere to go. The Hornet-DS is equipped with two Cross Vortex exhaust vents and a neck outlet that are positioned to take advantage of low air pressure zones at the rear of the helmet that actually work to draw hot air from the helmet.

Ventilation is only part of what makes the Hornet DS the most comfortable dual sport helmet in the world. The Hornet-DS is fitted with Shoei’s 3D interior system. Shoei’s 3D interiors use several different densities of foam in shapes corresponding to the shape of the rider’s head to ensure not only a comfortable feel, but superior stability in high speed riding. Shoei utilizes our 3D Max Dry liner material for the interior of the Hornet-DS. This proprietary blend of fibers is capable of absorbing 35 times its weight in moisture. The Hornet-DS’ 3D interior is completely removable, making cleaning easy. Shoei offers range of cheek pad sizes to allow for a custom-fitting option. Our cheek pads even feature slits so you can comfortably wear eyeglasses inside your helmet.

A chin curtain is added to the Hornet DS for additional comfort. The chin curtain prevents wind from entering the bottom of the helmet, reducing noise and increasing comfort on cold days.

Safety is always the number one priority here at Shoei, and the Hornet DS has many features which help it live up to Shoei’s reputation for safety and quality. The AIM+ shell construction of the Hornet DS is a multilayered composite utilizing several different materials with different properties to create a shell that is very rigid and light weight. This rigid shell is mated with a three piece EPS (expanded polystyrene) liner system that utilizes varying densities of EPS. This allows the EPS to “give” more easily in light impacts (helping to reduce concussions), while still providing protection from severe forces. Shoei even utilizes EPS in the chin bar area of our helmets to protect your face. This is something that isn’t even required by Snell or the DOT!

By now you know that the shell is the most expensive and complicated part of the helmet. Many of our competitors try to save money by only utilizing 2 or 3 shell sizes across their sizing line. They make up the difference with additional EPS or interior padding, contributing to a “bobble head” appearance. Shoei makes no compromises when it comes to comfort and safety. Shoei offer 4 different shell sizes to comfortably fit riders from size XXS though XXL.

EC Ride 07 : Part I

26.10.07 08:00 : We gathered like any Sunday Ride at the BHP tol Gombak. The difference is it's Friday. This is the original route plan for the ride :

Don't worry. I'm not that geeky. Maybe I'm just Techcy. Hehehe...

I remember the participants are :
Sifoo Is, Mat, Fino, Lan, Syam, Rudy, Abg Suindra, and Abg Jamil. Che Din, Kamal, and Radzi joins us later in Kuantan. Fuad escort us and standby for help with a Nissan Frontier.

Restoran Nasi Kandar. The usual meeting place. The red ST is another bikers who on his way to Terengganu too. He left before us.

Teh tarik any roti canai. The best breakfast you could have (not really..). Most of our attire are full leather. When Sifoo Is around, always get ready for some extreme action.

Fuel up here. I think BHPetrol fuel is one of the best. It has more mileage compare to others, even thou Petronas and Shell claim to have their own technology. But overall, most of them are the same, we're not that picky.

The signal up for ready to roll. Suindra became our Imam for Doa.
It's a long journey. May Allah bless us all.

Rudy rides ER6n-f that day. He did ordered a Hayabusa from Welly, but it got stuck on the AP processing and loan, not enought time claim Welly. So Welly was kind enough to loan him a bike, with Sifoo Is as guarantor, to join us for this ride. Go Welly! But buy from Mok! Hahaha.... (I'm just kidding... I notice most bikers has their own shop preferences).

I manage to mount my camcorder to the pillion left side footpeg. The mount is custom made, I use a head from a damage Sony tripod and a 1/2" water pipe and some cable tie. I works great! Cost me nothing. And the picture quality are excellent. Check out the video here.

We then fuel up at Temerloh. It take us about an hour from Tol Gombak.

Refuel. I once only top up RM10.00 here going to Kuantan, the day a liter of petrol cost RM1.92. The fuel warning flashes about 60km before Kuantan. I don't think I'll do that again. Never!

Fuad arrived just a few minutes later. Che Din? Speedtrap banyak ka?

A brief on the ride. Sifoo Is has a lot of experience in riding.

I rode a ZX6R back then. Seems to have some purchasing factor to Bedah and Pojie who then get the ZX6R too. I then left them by upgrading to ZX10R. Muahahaha....

This is my first time equip the Zumo 550 GPS. Caught some attention from this guys.
Fuad is techy as well. Knows a lot on digital stuff and big boys toys.

Angle shot like this is Fino's liking.

I'm impress with the GPS. All data and travel can be log. Wonderful.
Huhu... my RS Taichi gloves looks so goods.

After fueling up, we head straight to Kuantan. We took the Jabor exit. Radzi and Kamal we're already there to greet us. They even call the KDP (Kemaman Dungun Paka, right?) Bikers club to escort us along Kemaman. One of the guys riding a R1200GS, the bike I love so much before F800GS came out.

A quick rest on Tol Jabor while waiting for the others.

Still waiting for everyone to check in.

Time to leave. The green ZX6R are equip with sirens and flashing lights.
It's an easy ride through town when they backs us.

KDP Bikers bikes.

We stop at Che Din house in Kemaman. KDP bikers escort us all the way to the gate. They hang out and chit chat for a while before they leave us to our plan. Thank you guys! You guys help a lot maneuvering us through town.

Manage to snap some photo group shots at Che Din house with the KDP Bikers.

The was lots of red at that time.
Che Din's, mine and Radzi's.

Fino's K7 doesn't evolve much until now.
Put them Akrapovic full system le..... Hehehehe..

Before lunch, I brought some DVDs to enjoy. We did manage to playback the video I shoot along the ride. We watched SBK season 2001 and Faster.

Lovely lunch Che Din prepare for us. Lan was first on the seat. He looks like he is determine to get the chicken. The food was so damn good. I could still remember the taste. The cuttlefish is great. All of them are. Thanks Che Din!

Some of the dishes.

I think this ayam kampong is a retired champ. The meat was so firm. I remember 4 guys teeth trying to get a tear of it. I scared if I tried, I left mine on it.

So there eleven of us. Clock wise from left top : Rudi, Radzi, Abg Suindra, Sifoo Is, Lan, Kamal, Abg Jamil, Fino, Syam, Man Biaggi and Che Din. I'm the one behind the lens I think. Am I?

After gearing up. We make a move to Kuala Terengganu. We'll be staying at Radzi house there. It has a swimming pool. Fuiyoooh!

Around after Dungun area, we got caught in the rain. Sifoo Is leads and kept on riding till he had a good spot for a shelter. I was at the third last of the group back then. I have to stop to cover my camcorder. It's weather resistant, but it's not water proof. Just before, Fino had an argument with a Proton Waja along the way. He did, accidentally, dent the rear right side of the Waja. But everything was fine and it was settled accordingly. I caught that on tape. Hehehe...

Try getting wet on a leather suite. It gets better when the water starts to drips to your boots.
A hot drink is great on rainy like this.

When the rains starts to slow, we ride again. But the rain became worse at Merchang. He had to look out for a shelter again. Riding in a rain is fun for me, but visibility is almost 0, and it's getting dark. It left us no choice. Kinda dangerous.

Yup. This is quite an experience.

The rains getting heavier. Radzi shoot a little forward. He's missing from the pack.

We can still have fun in the rain.

We are caught here for a while. Sifoo Is giving some riding tips as we all are too fresh on this biking world.

I'll continue when the rains stops. Hehehe....

EC Ride 2007 : Foreword

It's been about a year from the 2nd long ride we have, the East Coast Ride. The first one was just Simpang Pulai, a month before this ride. I'm not blogging at that time. I was browsing through my photos today and this one reminded me of some sweet memories.

I'll think I'll Blog this.

Stay tune.

The Tireflys Effect

This one is the MicroFlys.
The LED rapidly blinking and comes with blue & white effect.

Looks lovely right?
But there's aint no satisfaction.

"I can't get no....
Satisfaction!
I can't get no...
Satis... Faction!
Cause I've tried.. and I've tried..
and I've tried.. and I've tried!
I can't get NO!...
I can't get NO!...
When I'm riding on my bike..

NEC Ride : Part V

The next morning, I went down to Kuala Besut and get ourselves nasi berlauk for breakfast. It was 7:00a.m. Some of the boys are still dreaming. I see Abg Mat Noor is missing, he did say he had do deal with something before we leave. He called when I'm tapauing that he'll be back around 9:30. I get ourselves 13 packs of nasi berlauk and 10 sticks of pulut panggang.

Everyone seems to have a good sleep.

The looks on Epol handsome face testify to us all.

So do Abg Suindra.

After breakfast, we all geared up for another long journey.

Najib knows how to acts in front of the lens.

Two bro getting ready to roll.

Like any other day, we pray to Allah to keep us safe and guide us well through out the journey.

At 10:00a.m., we're about to head to my grandmother's place. I saw her the day before and she is excited to meet the boys. So I made a promise that I came by before I left. We all fuel up before the journey. Without warning, Hazmi's bike shows some sign of trouble. The bike gasping & chocking, like has not enough fuel. The fuel pump vibrates, it seems like a wiring problem. I called Ah Meng and ask his opinions, he suspected and asked to check on the relay. So we push the bike to the nearest workshop. Sadly, no one want to touch the bike. It's been too long since Hazmi wash it. Kidding.... They are not a superbike shop, none of them are, so it's risky for them to gamble on the job. Hazmi looks frustrated, but Fadhilah seems confident to solve it. So they both dig in themselves. I know this will take some time so I head the boys to my grandma house first, it's just a kilometers away. My dad and mom was there too. Hehehe... So I left them all to be interviewed by my dad while I go check out on them two.

Upon arriving, I saw Hazmi had strip all the bikes apart. Fadhilah went to get a fuel pump. That one seems to be the problem, so he scout for one in bandar Jerteh.

Limited tools and limited knowledge. We don't like limit this hour don't we. Hazmi strip down he's bike near a mechanic shop. Thanks to them for lending some tools for us to work with.

Hazmi checking for the fuse while I snap some pictures of him. Hehe. If this was Bedah, I'm sure X-Sara will have another good laugh. Ye Bedah?

More checking.

So come Fadhilah, he explains the fuel pump seems lack of power. So the fuel suck isn't as efficient as it would be. Thus, giving the gasping effect. Sound believable? Believe it. The fuel pump cost Hazmi another RM70.00. After fitting up the pump, I see that it needed few mod to survive our long ride, but we are still a minimal on tools despite of the kindness of the mechanic near by to lend a tools (I was hoping a hand). I pickup the old pump and went for a surgery. The contact point inside the pump looks wear-ed. Rectifying the problem with a sand paper, we try to fit the old pump back. Walla, it works. But it's already 1:oop.m. After that we 3 head out to join the boys.

I see the boys relaxing outside the porch. Hazmi got a full session of Q&A. A bike that gives trouble halts the program. But all of them boys are understanding and it feels great when everyone has no problem with it. Friends sticks to each other. Well done. Tap your self on your head, you guys deserve it.

My mom invites us for lunch. The boys thought that would be nice. She cooks ikan singam, telur dadar, daging, ulam and budu, and some ikan masin. A typical lunch at kampong style. I'm surprised how much Bedah likes to eat budu. Cayala!

Some of us got the covered parking space.

Not enough room for Poji and Hazmi.

Rains start to fall.

Hazmi felt he needed a quick wash, maybe preparing for another trouble. Hehehe...

Here's my dad. Epol asked me how old is he, I was biting my fingers. I really don't pay attention to it. I just hope he stay young and healthy always. Hehehe. He likes when he knows someone live close by, or places he use to go. So Fadhilah seems fit to kept on the conversation.

After the lunch, at the time was 3:00p.m., we need to start moving. I counting head that we'll be in KL sometime in midnight. Hmm... and there's Karak to go by. Not a nice idea. So the plan to go through the beach road stays. The road is much better condition from the normal Jerteh-Permaisuri-KT road. And the view is nice too. We stop at Penarik to catch some of natures wonder.

I leave the camera to Bedah and he snaps some good photos.

I like my bike close by, so I parked nearest to the shed.

Checking the GPS. I wish it was like 30km away only, or 1000km of sweeping corners.

This is discipline.

I can watch the sea a whole day.

Epol with his bike.

Hazmi enjoys the wind blowing through his hair. Epol like it. Huh?

It was Bedah idea to sit back and enjoys this. Nice idea!
(You should pronounce it as in the Winning Eleven game.. Hehe).

So off the relaxing. We head to Kuala Terengganu. Penarik had made ourselves the desire to jumps into the ocean. So we thought Eddy's chalet at Dungun will suite us fine. He did say Dungun, but he didn't say where. As busy as Kuala Terengganu is, we all got split and I see we are on three groups. Fadhilah and me, Mat Noor, Yan and Eddy, and Poji, Bedah, Suindra, Hazmi and Epol. Najib ran solo. Hehehe... I did stop at Rantau Abang but we saw the 2nd group just speed by us. Abg Indra's group just enjoy the riding speed. So I guess Eddy's chalet be out of the map. I SMSes all of them to regroup at Paka.

From Jerteh, we arrived at Paka at 7:30p.m.@#$%!!!
I clutch feels hard, dropping gears on the corners is a let down. Got my self a WD40 here, for a whooping of RM16, and case solved. So you think KL is expensive huh?

This restaurant sells lauk-lauk mamak.

3 days of hard revving. Superbike are built to last.

At Paka, we decide to have our dinner at Geliga, Chukai. The stops there are popular among busses. We got played with few rempit on the way at Kerteh. I gave them a signal that we're not interested. This guys are just like 20 something. Young and stupid. Just like us. Errr... We behave. I wonder this ride would be if Sifoo Is are with us. Miss him on the Baling-Gerik corners, Banding-Jeli, Jalan Pantai. If he was here I think he smoked them all and I'll be shaking my head from the back.

At Geliga, Mat Noor gets us sata. It was great, but a little bit spicy. A must try if you pass by here.

Food stall all in a row. Just pick one you like.

On this journey, Epol and Bedah find what true friendship are about.

Mat Noor promoting the lovely tasty sata.

Yan promoting the sata as well. It basically a fish with coconut. Little spicy because they add some chilli as well. Great stuff!

Cuttlefish is my favorite. Ask my wife!
But this one reminds me of Tremos bleeding to death. Such not a nice word to type to a food.
I eat them too la....

Everyone enjoys their late dinner.

Later that night, some of us feel the journey is to far and will be exhausting to resume. It 10:00p.m. after the dinner. I made a promise to my wife that I'll be back, so I think I'll get home and since it's Monday, I could cover all the work I leave for this ride. Mat Noor, Abg Suindra, Hazmi, Bedah, Fadhilah and Poji follows. Yan, Epol, Najib and Eddy stays for the night. This is the last snap for that night. We all tired as well, I think we pushed ourselves to the limit on this journey.
At Temerloh, I can't remember how much cans of Red Bull that I drank. But all of us safely reach home about 2:00a.m. You can see I'm too tired as well that I skipped all the snapping to Blog. He he he...

Thank you all for participating. It's a one great experience for me. It's a one lovely nice ride!
I'll be eager for the next one.

NEC Ride : Part IV

We stopped at the jetty in Banding to freshen up. The air was outstanding. When you live too long in KL, you'll appreciate so much of the differences.

We got this place for ourselves that afternoon. Few come and go, and later came a bus full of training soldiers. They were sent to the jungle and ordered to survive for the whole two weeks. No phone, no supplies, no map, just a Rambo knife, matches and salt. Hmm... imagine that. I think, if it's me, I'll cheat by tagging a GPS with me. Hehehe...

The bridge view from the jetty below. The mark on the pillar show how high the water level can come up. Some how, I think everyone snap a shot of the bridge from here.

Stretching while smoking. Or is that my knee is itching for not scraping. Hmm...

We did some photo session here. Something like the Malaysia's Next Top Model.
(I almost puke myself typing this).

After a while, we start back our journey. The route from Banding to Jeli is great too. Few patches in the early stage but getting better after. Me and Epol did some quick run on the corners. At some point, according to Fadhilah, you reach to the top of Titiwangsa range when you can feel the cool air while riding. I wore a leather suite, so I don't feel any. There is an RnR on the top, and you can see a breathtaking view of Titiwangsa range from there. It's so wonderful.

Our next stop suppose to be Jeli. But since it's to near and we all struggling with our self endurance, the tiresome & wearisome, we ride straight to Jerteh. The plan to enjoy Tok Bali's view was canceled. Around 5p.m., we reached to my home town. My mom leave the house in the afternoon, she and my dad go to visit her sister who'll go to Haj. They'll came back later on the next day. The timing seems to be perfect for the boys to roll around and get some rest. She even cooked for us before they go, leaving the fried mee hun and some sweetcorn for us.

Shot of my house in Jerteh. It's the same age as me. Fadhilah took the junction to Pasir Mas, his home. We gonna see him again tonight at Kota Bharu.

After the short rest, we are thinking to dive into the ocean at Mat Noor's place, Semerak, which is just around 19km from here.

Tank and side bag are just great for this kind of riding. A bike with a side box such as the GTR is better. Heh Eddy?

Parked at Mat Noor's house, we walk to the beach just few hundreds yards from his house.

Almost sunset when we arrived.

Walking the walk. These four ain't for a rush, cause I know they ain't diving.

This 4 are. Mat Noor way ahead showing the way.

I remember singing Tiga Sekawan in my head:
"Ada seorang kawan, namanya Ah Meng,
Dia juga berkawan, namanya Muthu...
Kami berkawan baik, sama sedarjah,
Belajar, bermain, bersama-sama..."
Why? It's seems fit as that time I guess. Am my lyrics right? I'm so lost in my childhood.

East Coast beach is the best. I'm loving it.

Me, Pojie, Bedah, Najib and Epol. Some other member feel unfit to dive in. Yan haven't got the experience on long ride yet, he still wonders why I asked all of them to bring sandals as well. Next time Yan. Remember always the sandals and passport OK?

That would make Abg Suindra who won't left a friend behind to company Yan.
While Eddy and Hazmi having they romantics moment elsewhere.

30 minutes in the sea is nothing! I felt like a 10 year old boy when Abg Suindra asked us to come in. I looked at my fingers and it's still not shriveling yet. Waaa... Why can't we get here sooner!

Heading back to the house.

Eddy just realize what a GTR would best do for.
The long ride crusing.

This looks weird.

Abg Mat Noor and her mom.

After cleanse ourselves, Mat Noor's mom perpeared some bun and hot Nescafe for us.
That is just wonderful.

Chit chat and planning what to do that night.

The moon is so pretty.

Out helmets shines by the flash light, not the moon.

Chit and chat, we proceed to Kota Bharu as plan. Fadhilah had prepare an ayam percik & nasi kerabu dinner for us, it on him. Thank you!
The ride from Jerteh to Kota Bharu is terrible. Not the road, nor the traffic, it is all of us to tired.

"Hmm... ayam percik ya... Come here..."

The food are great. But Najib & Epol think a bed will be better. Even Eddy who's behind Bedah agrees.

But I'm enjoying this every seconds.

Here the nasi kerabu with an ayam percik and daging bakar... huish.... Damn tasty!
You have to minus the fork and spoon to enjoy this.

Satisfaction of the pleasure. Kikiki....

Some guy looks at the outside curiously wanting to know who's bike parked at his place.

It's all just terrific, now it's time for a coffee. Abg Suindra and Epol know just the best place. The White House Coffee.

Here's the shop sign.

Amazingly great. The coffee are just nice. One of the best I ever tasted.

This table can transformed from a 4 feet to 8 feet.
And from the looks of it, it might be more than 20 years.

The price is ain't bad.

Abg Suindra gives it a thumbs up on the roti bakar, wait till he get back to his wive for not getting any for her. Hehehehe...

Coffee and cigars... err... cigarettes.

Epol says even the eggs taste differently. It is known that the White House Coffee kept secret on the preparation of their food. But they do sell the coffee (which Abg Indra forgot to buy.. sorry Mam, Abg Indra letih kot pasal tu lupa), pepper and jam for you to make it yourself at home. But that never beats having them at the shop itself.

A cup of coffee, a bread and a "power" sure put us back on our feet.

2009 Ducati 1198

Ladies and gentlemen, presenting the new 2009 Ducati 1198, simply irresistible. It's basically a 1098 with new engines and traction control is now standard.

The 1198 is a race bike, pure and simple. It is immediately recognisable for its purposeful, no-nonsense attitude. The real Italian stallion, sex on wheels. The engine is almost identical to the 1098R, though Ducati’s claim of 170bhp is 10bhp less than the 1098R. Hmm can you imagine the R version of this bike?

Excuse me, can anyone lend me 100k?

Ducati 1098 R Bayliss Limited Edition

Enjoying exactly the same high specification as the standard 'R' model, the 1098 R Bayliss Limited Edition has a special colour scheme designed by Aldo Drudi (the same guy who designed most of Arai's helmet graphics) and approved by Troy Bayliss himself.

The 1098 R Bayliss Limited Edition will be limited to only 500 units worldwide. This is truly a tribute to Ducati legend Troy Bayliss who had claimed 3 SBK World Championship on 3 generation of Ducati superbike. This year championship is the last for Troy bayliss as he announce his retirement from competetive racing. Enough said, a true champion who retired as the World Champion.
Damn this bike is like sex on wheel.
Notice the carbon fibre trim? This baby is all carbon fibre body. Droooll

2009 Yamaha R1

Here comes the new 2009 Yamaha R1 to challange Mat's Kawasaki ZX-10R, Yamaha claimed the new '09 R1 as their "ultimate cornering machine" which is an improvement from the last generation of R1's. And all of this technology is derived from their M1 bike that Rossi rode all the way to the 2008 World Championship. Don't worry about the exhaust, you going to have it replace before it even leaves the dealership. Any takers for this mean leaning machine?

MIVV Suono Titanium

After using my bike for 8 month I finally decided to change my exhaust pipe. It was a hard decision to make considering all the aftermarket exhaust that was available. I researched all the brands, I listened to their sounds on YouTube and asked advice from all the 'sifoo' and after doing some soul searching I decided to get the MIVV. This brand is not well known here in Malaysia but it is used by Dani Pedrosa and Nickey Hayden on their Repsol Honda MotoGP bike. Went to the workshop after office hour and Mat joined me there.

The ZX6-R stock exhaust that is about to be replace.

Mat: Hmmphh... Akra aku lagi ringan lah!!!

Up close and personal, it's shorter compared to Pojie's Two Brothers.

The bike being striped down naked by Dewa and Adik while Amir gave a watchful eye.

Amir taking over from his 'apprentice'.

The exhaust comes with it's own fender eliminator.

Mat: Try takde exhaust dulu, baru jadi macam aku.
Bedah: Baik Boss.

Amir carefully fitting all the bits and pieces onto the bike, making sure nothing is loose or missing.

Now I have to think how to get home without waking up my neighbours huhuhu :p

Motorcycle lane along Federal Highway

Thursday October 23, 2008
thestar.com.my
"According to signboards on the motorcycle lane at the Federal Highway, motorcycles above 500cc can use the highways."
I don't whether this is true or not. Can anyone confirm this?

2009 BMW F800GS

Come guys, let get one of these and set our next trip to Beijing.
Huhuhu.... Retail at the States is USD $ 10,500.00, we have to fork out RM 79,900.00 without insurance and road tax yet.

When I first saw the panel for the first time, I said " Wow! It has a built-in compass?!". Turn out the N is for Neutral. Hehehe...

Get the bike. Minus the gear. BMW gear is too damn expensive for my liking.
Suggested Shoei Hornet DS would be just wonderful.

Top more than 200km/h should be fast enough for cruising. Right?

Better get the aluminum boxes, or at least the aluminum colored boxes. Black looks dull and don't do justice for this bike.

Hook up the GPS with USD $10,000 in the pocket then go anywhere! Worries free.

I don't mind crashing this bike... (if I could afford another).

Tok Mat have invite us to join him on a dirt bike experience. It would come handy on navigating this bike!

Ducati Streetfighter

Since a Ducati Monster is air-cooled, a liquid-cooled naked Ducati carries a new tag, Ducati Streetfighter. 1099cc, pumping 155bhp and 87.5 lb-ft of torque. Details specification will be out soon.

An S version will be out too. Expect for Ohlins shocks, more carbon fiber finish, Marchesini forged aluminum rims, traction control and data acquisition.

Coming to your store in near time. I'm not surprise if the price tag is over RM150K here in Malaysia. It can still sell.

NEC Ride : Part III

Day 2, 8:00a.m. : We get ourselves ready to blast for another long ride.

Everyone checking out they belongings, usually there is always something left behind.

Warming up ourbike. The original proposal was to go up to Sungai Petani and get to Baling then head up to Pengkalan Hulu. Since we are convince that Butterworth-Kulim expressway is not as bad as we tought, we choose to go on that route.

Doa led by Fadhilah. May Allah bless our journey.

Fadhilah request to go to the Mega Fortune again to put on a wind shield, he can't stand the wind force anymore. So I led them all to the Mega Fortune at Batu Lanchang in the island and we'll have our breakfast near there. Found out that the shop only opens at 10:00a.m. And what is a little disappointment for all of us, there is no Muslim food near around. So we have to hog around the street while looking at a mamak stall which is open. We found one about 2km from the shop, and Fadhilah make a wise move calling the shop to see is the windscreen is available in stock. Good news for all of us when they don't. Hehe... So we just enjoy our breakfast.

Found one small stall near the road selling nasi kandar. This is too heavy for me so I skipped it.
The cuttlefish egg is very very nice. It's hard to get this in KL and you can only get it in certain season only.

Huhu... looks like it's my lost.

So after our breakfast, we get out from the island through the Penang Bridge. We're not planning to stop untill Gerik. Our fuel are enough all the way to Banding actually.

Baling-Gerik Expressway. Total fun of knee dragging & flat-laying is 51km.
A+++ corners. My best rated street road second after Karak Highway. The corners are more extreme and it's a hill climbing most of it. So you know how I'll love the positive chamber on that every corners.

I felt a little selfish on this road. While usually I would wait for the others to follow, I felt I'll lost every corners I take without enjoying every one them if I choose to wait. So bye bye. I want to enjoy this. Muahahaha...

The road ends at a cross road. One lead to Pengkalan Hulu, where Bedah mistakenly choose that route, one to Banding and the other to Gerik town. We head to Gerik town and fuel up there.

Someone predict it'll would rain. So we sheltered here while waiting the weather forecast.
Nahh... the weather is terrific! Just nice for the tyres to do justice to our bike! Damn, I'm so loved the Corsas.

I want to U-turn and do it all over again.

The end of that awesome road.

After fueling up, we head to Pulau Banding. I'm a little bit disappointed. I was actually thinking that this will be the ultimate climax. But the road condition is not that fine, but it is still enjoyable. Maybe as they say were right, it might be the best in 3 years ago. But lorries and buses had made this road fill with patches. And some corners are sandy too. But the apex and turn are all in the right angle. One sweeping corner is soooo long that I was thinking I'll be back to the same point. Hopefully the government will tar the road back again just to please our selfish act of riding fast in the streets. Hehehehe....

So here we are, Pulau Banding. The jetty is were mostly people hang out. If I'm right The Temenggor Lake is a man made marvel with a boosting 15,200 hectares area. Lots of army are been trained here. Fishing spot and fresh air are the main attraction. But we are attracted to the roads.

I snap the jetty from the end bridge.

There are two bridges joining the Pulau Banding with the main land. This is the one that joins to Jeli.

Arrival of the boys. Abang Indra leads. They actually waited for all members at the Petronas about 1km before. I proposed lunch here, but since everyone of them have had a heavy breakfast, so we might as well skip all the way to Jeli or Jerteh.

Najib with his z750s.

Pojie, Abg Mat Noor.

Hazmi on his ZX7R.

Epol.

Eddy.

Fadhilah.

Yan.

Pojie again.

His twin, Bedah.

Abg Mat Noor.

I'm was hoping they develop a Bluetooth remote control for my DSLR so I could place and take my own shot. Hahaha... Not yet, some other years I think.

300kmj hits 10,000

We hit 10,000 visitors today.
CheDet.com scores 9,155,004.

Who are we huh?
Keep blogging on Dr. M!

NEC Ride : Part II

From Yan's house is like 15 minutes to Mega Fortune.

So this is Mega Fortune. Fadhilah says most KB (Kelantan) bikers came here to buy and upgrades their bike. From Kota Bharu, they have to travel through Kota Bharu-Jeli-Gerik-Baling-Penang to came here. How lucky of them to have that twisties route to enjoy.

Another part of Mega Fortune. I think they have like 6 shop lots to occupy the bikes.
The service area looks busy with bikers.

Pojie is complaining to have back ache due to the backpack. Najib suggest to tie the bag on the bike. But we have no banjo ropes to go with. So the idea of tying led to a serious discussion.

Hmm.. Weather seems to not go in our way. But it does, the sky is clear again in just minutes.

My bike suffers the bug & small rocks attack. Gonna be hard to wipe it clean, but they'll still leave some marks to the headlight.

The ride isn't that exhausting. The stops are.

Epol ZX14 looks very aggressive from this angle shot.

We, including me, are still on the subject. Got them banjo strips from another bike shop near by.

Finally, we are able to do so.

And Sifoo Najib makes his final touch.

In 30 seconds, Pojie when backpacking again. I mean backpacking.

So next stop, Marina Bay. Eddy's brother's place. To go to the island, there's 3 way of doing so. The bridge, the ferry, and swim. Our wise discussion left us crossing on the ferry. Yippy! I love going on a boat. I wish Chichi was here too. Epol teach us some kneedragging lessons along the way. Abg Suindra disagree. Hehehe.

Jetty area. We have to cue to get on the ferry.

What better way to kill some time. Snapping shots!

The sign says you need to introduce yourself to the officer in charge to use the main lane, which I bet is for higher ranking and government personal only.

I'm not the only one excited with this trip. See Abg Mat Nor impression.

The ferry travels at 17km/h. Swimming across not going us anywhere.

Some nostalgia this gonna be.

An American who worked here really interested on our trip, especially on Yan's Z750. He got himself a V-Twin RC51. Nice bike! And nice chatting with you.

Leaving the ferry, it's a bad traffic on Penang in the evening. We split because it's hard to navigate around the town with all the traffic lights and bumper to bumper cars. Pojie, Epol, Najib and Bedah know his way around town. Depending on the GPS, we got where we wanted to. It is such a wonderful device. Thanks to malfreemaps.com, where you can download a detailed Malaysia maps for free. The hard work by those guys made ours easy!

Time for a quick brake. We going into the town for our dinner. Eddy paged Masri, one of his colleague to helps us around town. He cruises with the 1800cc Goldwing with a pricetag of a decent terrace house here.

SMS to report home. I wonder what my baby is doing. Got news she had a little fever. My wife took him to a doctor and she's feeling a little better.

Long ride effect.

About 9p.m., after freshening up ourselves, we had our dinner at Kapitan's. Eddy loved the nasi briyani. It is so so for me, but the nan is really good.

This helmet ain't cheap. So it's hard to left it behind.

One of the Kapitan's hero. Not sure who's giving a peace sign there.

Some action before the meal.

The last meal we have is at Yan's place at 3p.m. It now 9.30p.m. We are starving.

The preparing zone.

Surprisingly, the potato is very good. Even thou you can factor in our hungriness, the taste is still awesome.

The famous briyani, get them either with lamb, chicken or meat.

Masri, one who helps us around Penang.

12 pack of us, RM130 for the whole meal. Decent rate, and worth coming back.

Fadhilah comments.

Here the shot of the restaurant. If you want to give it a try, just ask for Kapitan, it's well know around Penang. I would like to recommend Kassim Mustaffa just across the road if you going for a nasi kandar. Pity I'm just to full to get some taste of it.

Time to move again. A hot coffee would be nice. We are heading to Batu Feringgi to show them rempit a lesson of knee dragging along the twisties hill. Instead they teach us how to corner on a sand patch!
Err... nevermind. I don't think I'm that skillful anyway. Rempit, you're great! Just be nice and do something good for the nation and country, OK?

Arrived at Batu Feringgi, I just lost my mood a while. Not feeling like to walk, me and Najib volunteer to be the bike jockey. Both of us safekeeping our gear while some of us when shopping.

Manage to pose at The Ship. While typing this only I realized that we didn't snap any group photo.
Hmmm....

Mr. Epol thinking is the sandals are a bargain.
I don't think so.

That's me on my favorite Donald Duck t-shirt.

Backdrop is The Ship. We hang out here for an hour and some of us have the opportunity to test each others bike. So where's Masri Goldwing pics huh? Onboard that bike is like piloting a jet. To much gadget to take care off, but I'm sure there's joy every seconds riding it.

Later Masri took us through Tokong China I think, and head back to Marina Bay. The guard says only two Malays are tenant at that condo. So knowing who's place we stay help a lot on passing by the guard house.

We stay and chit chat untill 2.00a.m. Then it's another long ride for us.
But that's on another part. Catch you later!

NEC Ride : Part I

The day for 2008 North East Cost ride is finally here. I take some time to setup my bike for the ride the night before. I try to clamp my mini tripod to the bike, but it seems the best solutions is just to use an adhesive tape. I sample some pics, and it looks OK, I just forgot to factor in the ZX10R suspension and the weight of my A700. After setting up, I think I'll go to sleep. My eyes kept me awake until 5a.m. Sigh...

So all of us is eleven, me, Epol, Eddy, Pojie, Bedah, Yan, Hazmi, Suindra, Mat Nor, Najib and Fadhilah. All of us is a Kwakers, except for Fadhilah on a CB400 who available to join us in the last minute, not sure how but I think he skip his program for this, nice!

The next morning Epol SMS me to ride to the checkpoint with him. It was 8:30a.m. So I wait for him at my house. My baby girl seems to know I'm going away for a while. She stick with me the whole morning. I'm kinda felt hesitated to go for the ride a little, but it is already planned. So I must go. But I kept my mind to her the whole ride. Hmm.. I've been thinking coming home without even moving a single mile yet.

Hehe... I love you Chici! She gonna be six months on the 8th.
My bike is all setup right. GPS is ready. The mini tripod need to be tape, so I stop at a hardware store before moving to the RnR Sungai Buloh.

All the gang meet up at RnR Sungai Buloh. Having breakfast and planning the next stop. I do sketch the route plan, but as I stress, there's no commitment what so ever, so we are please to alter or change as we like, just that it'll would be good to have a references and of course majority speaks.

10 of us is ready to roll. Najib waits for us at RnR Gn Semanggol, Perak, 264km from here.

Time to move.

Nice shot from the mounted camera.

Before the long ride, Abg Indra lead the Doa. May Allah bless us all and keep us safe through out our journey.

We all carries 300kmj badge. Yan and Bedah bike are missing from the shot.

Eddy with his Z1000 shot from behind. The cam last for only 2 minutes, the tripod can't hold the vibration and wind speed. It's a real let down. I can't manage to get a shot on a cruising speed.

I stop at the side, shooting Yan crusing between the car and the van. Huhu... No more Mr. nice guy from Yan la Abg Indra... Hehehe...

The rest follows.

Next refill is RnR Tapah.

I'll fill up till the lips. Cost me RM24.00 from Sungai Buloh to Tapah. That's RM 24.00 for 127km. Damn... A superbike for commuting? Better think again.

Epol comment his new Corsa III tyres not gripping well on high speed crusing compare to his previous Battlax BT105. Stepping down the tyre pressure makes the tyre get more contact with the tarmac.

Bedah never forget to refuel anymore ya X-Sara? :)

Hogging the fuel station?
Nope. We are all nice bikerz. Hehehe.

Drinking a lot of water helps.

After a half an hour rest, we head to meet up with Najib. Jelapang is ahead and Epol isn't wasting his time to scrap his itching knee. He lead, Poji is behind and I'm the third. Not a very nice sweeps that day because the traffic is already building up. We stop just after Jelapang and manage to get some shots.

Abg Suindra with his mighty ZRX1200.

Leading the pack.

Hazmi is not far behind.

And we three got some catching up to do.

The Sultan Azlan Shah bridge, crossing Perak river.

Betong came to the agenda. Yan invite us to have lunch at his place at Bukit Mertajam. So that's gonna be our next stop.

Orderly parked at RnR Gn Semanggol.

Then another Kwakers add up to the group. Najib is well equip.
It's looks like it's gonna rain. Most of our gear bag comes with the rain cover. So might as well prepared. Lucky for us the rain starts from Jelapang, it's clear all the way to Penang.

Putting on and off this gear is like an exercise.

Time to move again.

2:30p.m. Rewarding lunch at Yan's place. Curry fish, sambal, ulam, fried chicken, udang masak merah is some list of the menu. Bedah giving a thumb up. Thanks Yan!

Feels great to get this off. The sun help vanish some of the nice odor.

Bike and gears.

This is Hazmi.

Err... Who's missing something on my bike?

Najib with his deep though as always.

I'm trying to give this tripod another chance.

The host. Yan's father.

Patriotism lives among all of us.

Yan, Bedah and Eddy.

After a while, Abg Suindra request to go to a bike shop. He did upgrade his bike and put some flashing light in front and back. He usually became a marshal anyway on any Welly's organized ride. Ah Meng seems forget to put back his screw washer, causing his front fairing to vibrate. Yan suggested to go to Mega Fortune, one of Penang leading superbike reseller. They have to shop, one on Seberang Perai and the other on the island itself. We are close to the one on the mainland, so we option to go there. Hazmi and Fadhilah took the opportunity to change their brake pads as well.

Off we go from Yan's house.

At 11km/h, it's a steadyshot.

At 0km/h, it's still a steadyshot.

At 136km/h, hehe... it's started to loose some focus.

At 180km/h, the wind and vibration have they own idea to place the camera.
I'm done.

I'll continue the quest on the next part.
